Dr. Hayoung Audrey Lim, Ph.D., MT-BC, LPMT, NMT Fellow

Dr. Hayoung Audrey Lim is the founder and CEO of ELim Music Therapy, LLC. Dr. Lim is a professor of Music Therapy, and director of the Music Therapy Clinic at Oral Roberts University. She is a Neurologic Music Therapy fellow and Licensed Professional Music Therapist by the State of Oklahoma. Dr. Lim has clinical music therapy experience with all major clinical populations including children with developmental disorders, patients with neurologic/geriatric disorders, individuals with psychiatric disorders, and patients in medical settings (e.g., neonatal, pediatric, and palliative). Her research focuses on the effect of music on children with Autism Spectrum Disorders, the effect of musical experiences on cognition, speech/language and physical rehabilitation, and music-based memory training for patients with dementia. A number of her manuscripts have been published in peer-reviewed journals, including the Journal of Music Therapy, Psychology of Music, Approaches: An Interdisciplinary Journal of Music Therapy, Nordic Journal of Music Therapy, Music Therapy Perspectives, and the Journal of the Scholarship of Teaching and Learning for Christians in Higher Education. Dr. Lim is the author of “Developmental Speech-language Training through Music for Children with Autism Spectrum Disorders,” published by JKP in London, UK. Christina A. Follis, LPMT, MT-BC

Christy Follis is the COO of ELim Music Therapy, LLC, and a board-certified Music Therapist. She is a Licensed Professional Music Therapist by the State of Oklahoma. Christy has a Bachelor of Music degree from Cincinnati Christian University, majoring in worship, piano performance, and Bible. She has been playing the piano for over 40 years and has been teaching piano lessons for 20 years. Christy was the Music Director of the Westmoreland Players in Westmoreland County, VA for two years. She also founded and directed the Rappahannock Church of Christ Kid’s Choir in Warsaw, VA, as well as the Williamsburg Community Kid’s Choir, in Williamsburg, OH. As an accompanist, Christy has performed all over the country. She was the elementary music teacher at Owasso Preparatory Academy in Owasso, OK for two years. Christy completed the requirements for the Music Therapy Equivalency Program at Oral Roberts University, which included successfully completing a music therapy internship at the ORU Music Therapy Clinic. While studying music therapy at Oral Roberts University, she gained experience in working with the following populations: children with various developmental disabilities, geriatric clients, adults with acute mental health disorders, and clients in a medical rehabilitation setting.

 

Olivia (Hart) Alferink, MTI

Olivia (Hart) Alferink is an intern at Elim Music Therapy and graduated with her degree in Music Therapy in May of 2024. She is also about to finish the third semester of her master's degree in counseling at Oral Roberts University. Olivia's primary instrument is the piano, but she plays the guitar and sings as well. While studying music therapy at ORU, Olivia completed six clinicals–each working with different populations. The populations she worked with include Developmental, Psychiatric, Geriatric, and Medical/Rehabilitation. Someday, Olivia aims to be a licensed counselor and music therapist and work with children and teenagers, especially in mental health and crisis and trauma work. Olivia also recently got married and wants to have children of her own someday.
